The values of journalism
Journalism, that is the prettiest profession of the world, must return to its origins and retake the footpath that took to him to be the fourth power of the main democratic countries of the world. It is time to exile to the mediocre ones and to become radicals of the Journalism. In purists who fight to defend this profession and returns it to take to the site that is deserved and that never it had to leave.
The media makes better to the people and the world. It serves to denounce the outrages of powerful and the miseries of the exiled of the society. It serves to announce the new features of a world that moves very quickly, but also to emphasize traditional values that have made of us a millenarian culture. It is hour from which this people return to means and transform this terruño ours.
It can be strange, but the good media, really, does not have to never die. It must remain and return to really notify. It must indicate to the facinerosos until throwing them of the public life and applauding the truely valid professionals. It must denounce the excursions of the corrupt industralists who play with the actions of their companies and to praise the companies that fulfill their codes of good government. Only with doing this, it would improve the society remarkably. And lack that does to us.
I listened to Journalist Bieito Rubido, in a show called 59 seconds, to speak of the values Journalists hold dear in the democratic societies.
Rubido was, during several years, director of the Voice of Galicia. During his mandate, the newspaper was characterized to write to the dictation of the Government of Fraga. Lie after lie. In more than an occasion, Rubido passed by the office of then conselleiro Perez Varela (well-known like small Göbbels) to receive instructions and shouts.
That zafia humiliates to you so to a person and ignorante as Perez Varela is sad. But Rubido does not give pain me. The first value of a journalist is the truth. Rubido prostituyó the truth; so Rubido prostituyó to the journalistic profession. To Rubido, to prostituir the truth left to him quite profitable, because the director of “the Voice of Galicia” has a very worthy pay. We go, that Rubido lay knowingly by money. Values and Rubido? Ejem… To me they told me in the University of Navarre that the journalist only has a commitment: with the readers. And me I believed it. I am a believer. Rubido, in journalism, is an atheist.
